What would happen if I discard a Terradragon Arque Delacerna with Necrodragon Bazradyuda's effect on the opponent's turn? Does Bazra stay, or is killed? Because...well... "When this creature would be destroyed, you may discard a Dragon from your hand. If you do, this creature stays in the battle zone instead." It says "if you do". And I didn't really discard Arque. Even though the new substitution rule(was announced a while ago, eg. Allows you to get a Mongrel Man draw with a destroyed Mighty Shouter) allows this, idk what to do with the current format. Does the rule still apply? PS: Still trying to find reliable sources about the substitution rule, do remember hearing it a while back, was related to Zabi Mira and Perfect Madonna PSII: Here it is: link

in the original delacerna's japanesse text there wasn't the word "instead" so the combo is legal. i know this precisely, because when i tried glais mejicula+delacerna combo on tco, people had their arguments and in the end, it was decided the double substitution rule can't be applied here, since delacerna does not have this "instead" word in its original form.

Alright, but then again there's two official rulings, the old one and the new one, which do we follow for now?

What was the date when the ruling changed? What was the newest set at that time?

I propose that we simply follow the latest rulings for all such issues. The rulings themselves are on the Japanese Wiki or the Takatatomy website (in Japanese ofcourse). No point over-complicating things where it's not necessary.

Alright, so then Bazra stays AND I can play Arque, right?

On a related note. If I destroy Hanzou vis Olzekia/Heavy's effect and then save it, will their effect activate? I know this is related to the double substitution rule so asking here.

Pretty sure Olzekia's will activate. Less sure about Heavy, but I think yes.

Yeah, considering the new ruling about Mongrel Man, i suppose heavy will also work.
