I have a Ice Vapor shadow of anguish in battle zone.. I casted a lost soul last turn so opponent has not cards in hand..and then he draws a triple brain he casts it and draw three cards.. not will he only chooses card from mana or from both mana or hand ?

"Whenever your opponent casts a spell, he chooses and discards a card from his hand, then chooses a card in his mana zone and puts it into his graveyard."
Your opponent casts spell. Draws 3. Ice Vapor effects activates. Opponent discards a card. Then burns a mana.
Spell effect always has to finish for ice vapor's effect to activate.

But wouldn't that indicate that removal spells on Ice Vapor prevent Ice' effect from triggering. Since, when the turn comes for his effect, he's actually no longer in battle.

i was hinting at the effect has to finish because there are no stacks in DM.
How about if i rule it like this:
Your opponent casts spell. Ice Vapor effect triggers but doesn't activate. Opponent spell resolves. Ice Vapor effects activates now.

i was hinting at the effect has to finish because there are no stacks in DM. How about if i rule it like this: Your opponent casts spell. Ice Vapor effect triggers but doesn't activate. Opponent spell resolves. Ice Vapor effects activates now. Correct. It's just like summoning surfer and bouncing Mist. You still get to draw
